Brain trauma and illness

This is my personal story: In 2010 I had a near fatal medical injury that resulted in a series of strokes. Not expected to live I was told in recovery I may never walk again and most likely would live in assisted care.

I owe many thanks to the surgeons who saved my life, my children for their amazing support and for my physical therapist and Psychologist who helped me struggle to health.

In my master's training I elected to take as many courses on the brain as possible. This knowledge helped me to remain strong, believing I could be well again.

During my recovery and to this day I have had the honor of assisting a Parkinsons Disease client. My own traumatic brain injury helped greatly in our sessions and I now have the priviledge of being her "Life Coach."

My moto, now passed forward is this;

We are not defined by our injury or illness. We can do this. You can do this.
